Information We Collect
Balkan Currency Converter does not require an account. Except for the optional website analytics described below, the developer does not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone data, or other personal information during normal use.
Android app analytics and consent
Google Analytics for Firebase is used in the Android app only if you explicitly opt in. Analytics is disabled before that choice, rejecting it does not reduce app functionality, and you can enable or disable Usage analytics later in Settings. Android analytics consent is separate from advertising and UMP choices and from website analytics consent.
After opt-in, Firebase may process an app-instance ID; app lifecycle, session and screen activity; standard app, operating-system, device and language context; and coarse geography derived by Google from masked IP addresses. Balkan Currency Converter uses low-cardinality events to understand feature use and improve the app. It does not send entered or converted amounts, currencies or pairs, exchange offers, fees, effective rates, rate dates, loss values, Saved Set names or contents, conversion history, pinned-pair contents, widget currencies or user-entered text to Analytics. The app sets no developer-defined User-ID, and Analytics Advertising ID collection is disabled.
Turning Usage analytics off stops future Android analytics collection and invokes Firebase's local analytics reset behavior. It does not guarantee deletion of data already transmitted or aggregated by Google. Google/Firebase processing and server-side retention depend on their terms and the applicable Firebase and Google Analytics Console settings.
Advertising consent is separate
The Android app contains one AdMob banner. UMP and applicable privacy messages manage advertising choices separately: rejecting app analytics does not disable the banner, and accepting app analytics does not grant advertising consent. Google Mobile Ads processing depends on region, user choices, device settings and Google configuration. The app uses no interstitial, rewarded or other full-screen ads.
Local app data and in-app review
Conversion history, Favorites, Saved Sets and their names and currencies, pinned pairs, offline rates and timestamps, widget preferences, theme, sound and other settings, analytics choice, and review eligibility counters and dates are stored in private SharedPreferences on the device. App SharedPreferences are excluded from Android cloud backup and device transfer; they remain until cleared, app data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. There is no app account or cloud sync. The Google Play In-App Review flow does not give the app a star rating, review text, or confirmation that the review card was shown or a review was submitted.
Website Analytics test isolation
Local and QA test traffic is technically excluded from Analytics when the accepted QA marker is present.
Security
Reviewed network transfers use HTTPS/TLS. We do not claim end-to-end encryption, independent certification, penetration testing, or a formal security audit.
Website advertising (Google AdSense)
balkanconverter.com uses Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process technical request information, consent signals, ad interactions, approximate location derived from an IP address, and cookies or similar browser storage where permitted.
For visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google's certified consent platform presents advertising choices. Depending on the visitor's region and choices, Google may show personalized or non-personalized ads. A visitor can refuse consent or manage individual purposes without losing access to the calculators or other site content.
Advertising consent is separate from the optional Firebase Analytics choice described below. Learn more in the Google Privacy Policy and Google advertising policies.
Website Analytics and Consent
balkanconverter.com uses Firebase Analytics, provided by Google Analytics, only after you select Accept analytics. Analytics helps measure page views, traffic sources and campaign parameters such as UTM tags, referring pages, browser and device information, and aggregated engagement with the website.
The website records a custom google_play_click event when an enabled visitor selects a Google Play link. The event includes the destination URL and the link's location on the page, such as the header, hero, download section, or footer.
Firebase Analytics may use first-party cookies or similar first-party identifiers, where available, to distinguish browsers and sessions and provide analytics reports. Google may also receive technical request information such as an IP address when processing analytics events. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization consent remain disabled by this website integration.
If you select Reject analytics, the Firebase and Google Analytics libraries are not loaded and no analytics events are sent. Your choice is stored locally in your browser so the website can remember it. You can change the choice using Analytics choices in the footer or by clearing this site's browser data.

Exchange Rate Data
Exchange rates, historical chart data, and the currency catalog are retrieved from the Frankfurter API, which uses institutional and non-commercial data sources. Frankfurter or its hosting provider may receive network information such as your IP address when processing a request. Requests may include currency codes and, for historical charts, a date range; they do not include an entered amount, Saved Set name, history, locale, or other user-entered text.
Balkan Currency Converter does not use this information to identify or track users.
Advertising
The app uses Google Mobile Ads to display banner advertising. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and Google's configuration, Google may process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, diagnostics, and consent signals to provide, measure, secure, and personalize or limit ads. Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) requests and stores applicable consent choices and provides Privacy Options when required.

Local Data
Your settings, theme, favorites, last-used currency pair, conversion history, cached rates, and cached currency catalog are stored locally in app data and are not sent to the developer. Balkan Currency Converter excludes its local preferences from Android cloud backup and device transfer. Google SDKs may maintain their own local operational and consent state.
Data Retention
Locally stored settings, conversion history, cached rates, and cached currency data remain on your device until you clear them, clear the application's data, or uninstall the application.
Payments
The current version does not process payments. If paid features are introduced in the future, payments will be handled through Google Play, and this Privacy Policy will be updated where necessary.
Contacting the Developer
If you choose to contact the developer, you may voluntarily provide your email address and message. That information is passed to the email application you select. Balkan Currency Converter does not send emails directly or retain your message on developer-operated servers. For questions, use Contact developer in the app.
Children
Balkan Currency Converter is a general-purpose utility and is not specifically directed at children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the app or its services change. The latest version will remain available within the application and on this page.
